Yuwang City is the ancient Anyi City. It is said to be Yu's capital of Anyi, known as the "first capital of China". It is located in Yuwang Town, 7.5 kilometers away from the northwest of the county. It is in the hilly area between Qinglong River plain land and Mingtiaogang area.

During the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, it was the capital of the state of Wei. During the Qin Dynasty, Hedong County was set up here. During the East and West Han Dynasties, Hedong County was located here, which was one of the metropolises of economy and culture. In the first year of Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, the capital was temporarily established here for half a year. During the two Jin Dynasties, Anyi County was located here. In the first year of Emper Xiaowu of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Anyi was divided into two counties, north and south. The southern Anyi was the site of the Anyi Office in what is now the Yanhu (Salt Lake) district, and the Northern Anyi is now the ruins of Yuwang City. In the tenth year of Taihe, the government set new city around fifteen miles away from the ancient city. In the eighteenth year of Taihe, northern Anyi was moved to the new city. Because of the legend that Xia Yu established his capital in Anyi, it was renamed Xiaxian County, and Xiaxian County thus named. From then on, the city of Anyi gradually fell into ruins. In 1988, the State Council announced it the national key cultural relics protection units.

Yuwang City site is divided into four parts: the big city, middle city, small city and Yuwangtai Terrace.

The overall shape of the city is irregular trapezoid, with a total area of about 13 square kilometers and a circumference of about 15.5 kilometers. Its walls are between 11 and 22 meters in thickness and 3 and 8 meters in height. The north wall and the west wall are better preserved, while the south wall and the east wall are slightly worse preserved. The remains of the south section of the east wall and the southeast corner are not obvious. Except for the north wall, all the other walls are not in a straight line. Outside the northern section of the western wall, there seemed to be traces of moats.

The middle city is square shaped with a total area of about 6 square kilometers and a circumference of about 6,500 meters.

With a total area of about 754,000 square meters and a circumference of 3,270 meters, the town is a rectangle with a missing southeast corner.

Yuwangtai, also known as Qingtai, is a square rammed earth platform. It is 11 meters high and 58 meters long from east to west and 70 meters wide from north to south. From the section of rammed earth platform, the upper rammed earth age is later and the lower rammed earth age is earlier.

The cultural accumulative layer in Yuwang City is generally up to 3 meters thick, especially in the small city part, the cultural accumulative layer is up to 5 meters thick. On the ground, relics of Warring States period and Han Dynasty can be found from time to time. There are a lot of remains including the Building Site, Workshop Site, Wuzhu (an old monetary unit) in West Han Dynasty and the Kiln Site. Among them, moire tile with animal head and 12-character character brick are unique to the ruins of the capital of the same period, which are of high cultural relics and artistic value. Yuwang city wall and moat, with its magnificent city wall and moat, beautiful scenery all around and unique terrain, is an important component of Chinese history and culture.
